Shark Tank is an entrepreneurship-based reality television show that allows entrepreneurs to make deals with some of the world’s most well-known investors. The “sharks” in this show are some of the most wealthy, intelligent investors in the world, and they are committed to helping small businesses.

Throughout the 14 seasons that the show has aired, the Shark Tank investors have helped many entrepreneurs grow their businesses into million-dollar companies. While some sharks are more successful than others, many wonder what their net worth actually is.

About the Shark Tank Investors

Shark Tank premiered in 2009 and still remains one of the most popular tv shows on ABC today. There are different sharks that cycle through different seasons, but the main 6 sharks that appear on the show are:

These investors have come from all different starting points and walks of life, so they each have had a unique path to success. They all have a net worth of at least $100 million from all different income sources.

Plus, according to an estimate by Variety, each of the sharks earns an additional $50,000 per episode aired.

Here’s how each of the sharks have earned their way to success, ranked by net worth. 

Mark Cuban – $4.6 billion

The richest of all the sharks, Mark Cuban has certainly made a name for himself in the entrepreneurship industry. He is most commonly known for owning the Dallas Mavericks, one of the most successful teams in the NBA.

The biggest turning point in Mark Cuban’s career was when he sold his video portal company, Broadcast.com, to Yahoo for $5.7 billion. Additionally, he co-owns the media company 2929 Entertainment, Landmark Theaters and Magnolia Picture.

However, Mark Cuban didn’t come from wealth. In order to pay for his schooling at Indiana University, he sold stamps door-to-door and gave disco lessons.

Kevin O’Leary, also known as Mr. Wonderful, is the second-richest investor on Shark Tank. His route to success started in the 1980s when he co-founded SoftKey Software Products. In 1999, the company was bought by Mattel and renamed The Learning Company, making him a multimillionaire.

O’Leary continues to earn his wealth in a variety of ways. The main way is through the investments he makes on Shark Tank. However, he also makes money as an author and media personality. He even has a YouTube channel with over 800k subscribers.

Daymond John – $350 million

With a net worth of $350 million, Daymond John is best known for being the founder and CEO of a hip-hop clothing company called FUBU. Believe it or not, he started this company from his mother’s house when he was only 20 years old. 

Once he made a reputation for himself on Shark Tank, he was able to create a consulting group called The Shark Group from which he generates revenue.

Aside from his investments, he is also a New York Times bestselling author and motivational speaker. His books and speeches mostly pertain to the business, entrepreneurship, and finance industries. This is also where a lot of his wealth is coming from.

Robert Herjavec – $200 million

Robert Herjavec is most successful for creating BRAK systems, an Internet Security company founded in 1990. Since this industry was taking off at such a rapid rate, he was able to sell the company to AT&T for $30.2 million.

Shortly after this, he became the vice president of sales for RAMP Network. With technology and internet security being such a popular industry at this time, this company was bought by Nokia for $225 million.

The third huge success of his career was founding The Herjavec Group, another cyber-security company. The company originally only served Canadian residents, but now an estimated 40% of the company’s work is done in other countries.

Lori Greiner – $150 million

President of For Your Ease Only, Lori Greiner is arguably one of the best investors when it comes to predicting success – Hence why she’s nicknamed the “Queen of QVC.” Lori has invested in tons of successful businesses in her time on Shark Tank, and she even has created over 400 products herself.

Greiner’s first product was a plastic jewelry organizer which resulted in earning her first million dollars. She was able to sell this product to retail outlets such as JC Penney, and within 3 years, she was making over $10 million with this product alone.

She is also a motivational speaker and the founder/host of Clever & Unique Creations, one of the most popular shows on QVC.

Barbara Corcoran – $100 million

In all of Barbara Corcoran’s years of being on Shark Tank, she has invested in over 80 businesses. Aside from starring on Shark Tank, she is most well known for founding The Corcoran Group, a brokerage firm she started in 1973. 

During the next few decades, she put a ton of time and energy into the real estate industry, specifically in New York. Then, in 2001, she sold the company for $66 million.

Besides investing, Corcoran stars in another show on CNBC called The Millionaire Broker. She has also published a few of her own books and writes weekly pieces for the New York Daily News, which both generate revenue.
